Liability waiver
I agree that by participating in this and any coming airsoft/paintball/nerf events held by District 23, I am doing so entirely at my own risk.
I accept and recognise that there are various risks and hazards in all areas of the site including but not limited to, the car park, offices, safe zone and game zone areas.
Such risks/hazards include but are not limited to window frames, sharp objects, holes, trip and slip hazards, game structures, buildings, barricades, raised platforms, vehicles, stairs, walkways and stray shots.
I understand that airsoft pellets/paintballs/nerf darts can bruise or break skin, and in extreme circumstances may cause slight cosmetic scarring.
I confirm that the operators shall not be liable for any loss or damage, cost or expense arising from my attendance, which was not reasonably foreseeable by the operator on the date in which I have attended site, except in the respect of death or personal injury as a direct result of any act or omission on the part of the operator.
I agree to comply with all guidelines surrounding the safe use of pyrotechnics. This includes but is not limited to: Ensuring that the correct protective equipment is being used relevant to the device being used, not using pyrotechnics within ONE Metre of another player, and not using any pyrotechnics which would use any form of flame or exposed flash and/or spark, not throwing any pyrotechnic at a height above that of the knee, nor throwing a pyrotechnic down any area not in direct line of sight of the person whom is throwing it, wherein there could be reasonable risk that a person may be struck with the pyrotechnic device.
Further I recognise that the recommended footwear is a boot with ankle support and deep tread with rubber soles. I recognise that by not wearing the recommended footwear that I have made that decision in the knowledge that I am at a significantly higher risk of injury. Further, I recognise that even by wearing the recommended footwear I am still not void of any risk of injury in relation to it.
I agree to fully obey with any reasonable instruction given to me by a site marshal, this includes any orders given during any skirmish event and/or any instructions given in a briefing given prior to entering the game area.
I understand and agree that by failing to follow an order or instruction given to me by a recognised site marshal, I am liable to be ejected from the site without warning and I will not be reimbursed or refunded for this.
I agree to be bound to the site rules and instructions.
I accept that I must wear suitable eye protection at all times whilst in the game arena without exception, I agree under no circumstances will I remove my eye protection for any reason whilst in the game area and if found to be doing so, I will immediately be ejected from the site.
I accept that eye protection is the only mandatory protection which must be worn, but it is highly recommended that at a minimum lower face protection be also worn for airsoft. This is with the notable exception that any player under the age of 18 must wear full facial protection at all times for airsoft and paintball. It is entirely the responsibility of the player to ensure that any additional protection is suitable and rated for use in airsoft and paintball, and that District 23 is not responsible for any safety equipment or the suitability of such equipment other than that provided by the site.
I accept that any injury which occurs as a result of safety equipment not supplied by the site is entirely the fault of the player.
I also agree that any personal equipment may be checked at any time by site staff, this includes but is not limited to the power of any weapons, the weight and style of any projectiles used, and the functionality of any equipment. I agree that I will not make any adjustments in any equipment once it has been tested, this includes but is not limited to the changing of any springs, mechanics, or propulsion methods in any firearm in order to increase the power or firing rate of said firearm once the firearm has been chronographed without the explicit consent of the marshal staff and having had the weapon chronographed again.
I agree that all personal safety equipment can be tested by site at any time and the site takes no responsibility for any damage which may occur to such equipment.
I understand that both the site and other players may use photographic and/or video equipment and such images may be used by site or player in any reasonable way, including but not limited to any commercial or advertising purposes.
I accept that the site will make every effort to allow players to remain in preferable teams, however, they may have to adjust teams at any time in order to maintain the skirmishes, this may result in not being able to play with, for, or against players which I would wish to, and that the site marshal will have the final decision on any teams which will be used.
I accept that at no point will I allow any firearms or weapons to be displayed in any public place at any time, this includes but is not limited to any carpark or outside area of the site.
Further, I understand that by the nature of the weapons used in airsofting, by doing so make myself liable to prosecution by the local authority for failing to adhere to this.
I confirm that I believe myself to be physically fit and able to participate in the sports, and that the games may require high levels of exertion, further I accept that by the very nature of the games there will be an element of pain and/or bruising caused through participation in the sports. I also agree that I have declared to the centre manager any illness or detriment which may affect my ability to participate in the sports, including but not limited to any respiratory or circulatory problem.
Further, I acknowledge that to my knowledge I am not pregnant or suffering any spinal, skeletal or muscular injuries at the time in which I enter the centre and any change in such circumstances will be reported to centre staff immediately.
I agree that this waiver will be held on record for 36 months and that it is valid for 12 months, and that I will report any change in circumstance to site staff.
